Hirotaka Tanaka founded Puebco in Tokyo in 2007 with the goal of creating new and repurposed products from old / recycled materials. He wanted to create items instinctively and without putting too much emphasis on sales or marketing.
As part of his design process, Hirotaka travels around Asia seeking inspiration in defunct, discarded items that merit a new lease of life. Many of the items utilise ex-military apparel, camping gear and dead-stock fabrics.
The result was a range of useful, everyday lifestyle products that are inspired by a retro industrial style with a Japanese minimalist twist.
Puebco are true innovators in re-using, up-cycling, design and sustainability and are one of our favourite brands!
